Tour No. 11
The rocky City in Czechs Tour
The rocky City in Czechs - laid between the village Adrspach, and the town Teplice over Metuji near Polish Klodzko. You will admire the beauty of the natural nature, the labyrinths of rocks, mountain lakes and waterfalls.
A unique rock city with a 6 km education trail loop featuring 14 information boards familiarizing visitors with the geology and morphology of the rock city and the history of public access to the site. Here we can find extensive rock plateaux, wildly divided rocky ridges, canyons, gorges and labyrinths between the rock pillars and covered with forest growths with notable montane and submontane flora and fauna. The rock city complexes are of unique natural science and aesthetic value and are the most extensive complex of castellated block sandstone in Europe. The cold, moist microclimate in the canyons, gorges and caves supports the occurrence of glacial relict species.
The trail can be walked in 2 to 3 hours. Along the way are remarkable rock formations such as the Rock Crown, the Church and Martin Walls, the Polar Bear, the Krakonoš Toothpick, and many others. Visitors can also see mountain climbers on high cliff walls (up to 60 m).
